Sorry, we’ve been running Valve time with this one (no we haven’t – it got released eventually), but Electric RC2 is out now. It’s actually been mostly done for a little while, but a bunch of time got taken up with school projects and the like. So, here’s the new stuff.
- Background textures have much fewer glitches around the edges of the woods
- The aimer mod doesn’t lie (for real this time)
- Flare packs now include 3 flares
- Various frame rate bugs fixed
- The installer is about 2/5 the size it used to be
- The installer has the correct icon
There are also the added features of:
- All new music (I don’t really know why, it just happened)
- The market shows stats for weapons and plane upgrades
- When a meter is displaying an amount greater than its limit, the name and number turn orange (such as, when a SRB is used to accelerate to a speed faster than the plane’s natural top speed)
- The background uses a macrotexture
- Some new sound effects
- Some weapons have different name
One of the new songs – the in-game music – was made by Daniel “RDMarsee” for a final project in a music technology class. The current version was made in about two days, but the released version will be much refined. We both have recognized the clash in styles between the menu and in-game music. Daniel is currently investigating some different voices that can be used to smooth out the sound more.
This time, since it’s so close to the full version, you need an account on the site to download it.
Tune in next time for a rando post about bad life simulations.
